Electric Deluxe Presents… Modeselektor, Mathew Jonson, 2000 and One

Modeselektor, Mathew Jonson and 2000 and One will be headlining the 8th edition of Electric Deluxe, on Friday the 22nd of January in the Amsterdam Melkweg. With a killer line up like that you shouldn’t be surprised the SOLD OUT sign is on the door before you can open it.

This edition marks the return to Amsterdam, after a detour that brought Speedy J’s raving techno circus all the way to the east of Holland. On this edition the host will do an all nighter in the old room of the Melkweg. Speedy J promises to take technofreaks to every corner of the genre. From complex beats to straight up four-to-the-floor and from delicate and introvert to brutal and ear piercing.

In the Max, the main room of Melkweg, Berlin will once again dominate the floor. Since both Modeselektor and Mathew Jonson reside in the German capital. It’s been almost two years since Modeselektor did Amsterdam. For the best part of 2009 the duo Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary was touring together with Apparat as Moderat, which temporarily dimmed the light of their own machines. But they’re back with a vengeance, as their new amazing single Art & Cash proves.

Compared to the in your face grittiness of Modeselektor, Mathew Jonsons view on Techno is much more subtle. The Canadian made quite a reputation over the years with a string of strong solo singles on Wagon Repair which combined melodic, LSD-infused Techno with a dark undercurrent. Both as a solo artist and as a key member of the respected trio Cobblestone Jazz, Jonson is regarded by many as one of the best live Techno acts in the world, mixing his wide range of sounds live on an immense mixer.

It’s a home match for Dylan Hermelijn, better known under his artist name 2000 and One. His record labels 100% Pure and Remote Area are considered among the best international (minimal) techno labels and being a DJ in top shape he repeatedly ruptured dancefloors in international clubs like Berghain, Trouw and Paradiso.

Technodiva Estroe will kick off the 8th edition of Electric Deluxe Presents with her delicate and melodic style. Recently she released her debut album Elemental Assets, which got raving reviews in the international dance press.
