EDLX@Paris
Ooh la la Electric Deluxe fans, on November 9 we’re taking our showcase to Paris with some very special guests in tow!
La Machine du Moulin Rouge has become one of the city’s premier spots to see the crème of the electronic music scene, programming a rich blend of dance acts right across the spectrum. The triple tiered bar and club venue, formerly the boiler room of the Moulin Rouge, is a modern encounter of industrial meets decadent chic, with a dancefloor made just right.
For this special EDP edition, host and EDLX honcho Speedy J will be joined by longstanding affiliate Lucy under their Zeitgeber alias. In June the pair unleashed their debut long player under the moniker to critical acclaim. Both known purveyors of the more experimental side of techno, Zeitgeber delivered an abstract and visceral journey deep into the genre. Coming out on Lucy’s Stroboscopic Artefacts imprint, its was clear from the start this was one was going to be for the heads. Though Lucy and Speedy J are no strangers to sharing line-ups, behind the decks they’ve just had a handful of outings together. And while the album was dubbed a breakaway from dancefloor considerations, in the club expect the partnership to keep things rolling all night.
EDLX mainstay Hans Bouffmyhre completes the bill. Certainly one of the hardest working young men in techno right now, real-name Stephen Gorrie has just released his second EP with EDLX, Catapult, representing four tracks of heavyweight techno artillery. His no-nonsense production style is matched in full on the decks. This one’s going to be a night to remember.
